Fire Marshal's Office.

The Fire Marshal leads the Gilmer County Fire Marshal's Office, overseeing fire prevention, fire code enforcement, community risk reduction, and fire origin-and-cause investigations. Core responsibilities include plan review, commercial inspections, burn and construction permitting, Certificates of Occupancy, and public fire-safety education. Through proactive inspections, education, and risk-reduction initiatives, the office identifies and addresses fire and life-safety hazards before they become emergencies.

The Deputy Fire Marshal supports the Fire Marshal in carrying out the county's fire prevention, inspection, permitting, code enforcement, and community risk reduction programs, and assists with fire origin-and-cause investigations, public education, and community outreach. Through these proactive efforts, the Deputy Fire Marshal helps identify hazards, reduce community risk, and improve fire and life safety throughout Gilmer County.
